My favourite moments are spent in nervous anticiaption watching the the sun rise as trees whiz by, crammed into a silent vehicle full of friends on the way to the trial field.

I am incredibly fortunate to have a career that allows me to cheer-on and support my friends, compete with my dog and work all at the same time.  Thriving on the fast-paced action of trials and capturing the moments that make the struggle of working with these quirky K9 creatures worthwhile.

The time with our animals is brief.  I’m reminded almost daily to expect the unexpected and to cherish every moment we have together.  I never want to feel that terrible regret.  The sudden realization that our time has been cut short and the understanding that I will never see that look, that goofy grin, the quirky way he tilts his head ever again.  Those beautiful eyes that will never stare back into mine… This is why I do what I do, because I know that one day as much as I swear I’ll never forget, that these looks will be fading memories that I can never get back.

Puppies grow up, working dogs retire and unfortunately both the young and the old will leave us way too soon.
